While on a mission, Jake is taken in by the Na'vi and explores their labguage, culture and habitat. Natirii, the female Na'vi he meets in the forest, helps him through this trip.
Avatars are biological creations made from human and alien DNA. They are controlled by a human being whose DNA they were made from. The soldier takes control of an avatar that is made from his brother's DNA.
